Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

The Clifton Schools serve the benefits-eligible employees of Emory University, Emory Healthcare, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Centers for Disease Control and full-time Emory students.  Our purpose is to provide the best possible child care and learning experiences for children, and to act as a family support system.  The School is licensed by the State of Georgia and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

The Clifton School is a non-profit corporation, managed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives of Emory, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the CDC.  Daily operations are administered by the School's Director.

FOOD SERVICE: The food service covered by tuition includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks.  Milk is provided with the meals.  Meals for infants consist of formula, baby food, and then strained and/or mashed food.  Meals for older children are planned on a monthly basis. The current month's menus are available:    standard menu; vegetarian menu.  The Clifton School is a nut-free school.  All of our meals and snacks are prepared free of nuts.

PARENT HANDBOOK: Given to every family when a child enrolls, and also available here as an Adobe PDF.

CLIF NOTES:  "Clif Notes" is our parent newsletter.

PARENT COUNCIL: The parent council is a group of parents that exists to support the staff and create an environment in which all parents can become involved in the life of Clifton.  Membership of the Parent Council is open to all parents.  Parent Council has regular meetings and events.  Please refer to The Parent Council website for more information:  http://cliftonschool.emory.edu/

ADMINISTRATION: The Director at each site is responsible for the overall administration of the School, including acting as the direct contact for parents and the Board of Directors; the Clairmont Site Director also answers to the Executive Director. The Assistant Directors assist the Directors with administrative tasks and supervise the schools' staff.

The Children are divided into separate levels (villages)  by age -- Infant, Toddler I, Toddler II, and Preschool.  Each class is staffed by two co-teachers.
